Kirigiti Stadium Located at Kiambu is one of the standout projects by the Government of Kenya. Constructed to international standards, the stradium cost Ksh 600 Million and took three years to complete.

The stadium features a modern grass football pitch, two presidential holding rooms, VIP pavilion, four changing rooms, washrooms, kitchens and stores.

The local and surrounding  communities will benefit immensely once the facility is operational.

 The modernization of the facility will enable the stadium to host nationwide, premier leagues and even international matches.

Apart from giving  a standard home ground, this will inspire young sportsmen and women as they now have a standard sports facility.

The stadium has also opened up business in Kirigiti town with investors eager for the official launch and opening of the facility.

Many investors have opened businesses around the stadium in anticipation of better returns once the facility  is operational.

Kenya was the best African nation and 19th overall, with 10 medals – four gold, four silver and two bronze – all panned from athletics.

Emmanuel Korir (800 metres), Faith Chepng’etich Kipyegon (1,500m) alongside marathon runners Peres Jepchirchir and Eliud Kipchoge mined gold, with Hellen Obiri (5,000m), Ferguson Rotich (800m), Timothy Cheruiyot (1,500m) and Brigid Kosgei securing silver.

The bronze medal winners were Hyvin Kiyeng and Benjamin Kigen, both in the 3,000m steeplechase.
