the model ECD centre was constructed to increase access to quality  ECD  in Biashara ward, Naivasha. It was constructed at Milimani Primary School. It has one fully equipped Administration Block, Waiting Bay, 2 classrooms, and fixed play equipment. enrollment improved by 40%

Initially there were no well-defined spaces for bus parks in Nakuru town which led to congestion within the CBD. The County Government of Nakuru, through the department of Infrastructure, has constructed a new bus park which has eased the problem of congestion within the CBD. 

The Margaret Kenyatta Mother-Baby Wing at the Nakuru Provincial General Hospital was constructed in 2018 with the objective of assisting mothers deliver in a safe environment. The project was a funded by the national government together with the County Government of Nakuru. The unit is fully equipped with in-patient and out-patient maternity services. It was officially opened in 2018 by the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta. The Mother-Baby Wing has four operating theatres, four delivery rooms, 140 bed-capacity and staffed with 50 personnel which inlcuded doctors, nurses, clinical officers and physiotherapists, nutritionist, and support staff among others per shift. This investment has increased delivery by skilled birth attendants from 45% to 90%..

To provide a condusive environment for trade, the Nakuru County department of Trade, industrialization, cooperatives and tourism partnered the Naivasha East community members to design the Retail market in Naivasha municipality.

The Market was constructed between June 2019 - June 2021. The Market accomodates 1000 traders and an estimated 5000 customers per day.

The market has provided additional  annual revenues amounting to over Ksh 100,000 and increased daily household income to traders estimated at Ksh 750.

The project is a community empowerment tool .The incubators were installed so as to generate income for the community andthus improve their livellihoods through the sale of hatched chicks.

Established five (5) digitals in Kuresoi South, Rongai, Subukia, Nakuru West and Nakuru East to enhance digital literacy and empower young people on online jobs. Members of public are trained on basic digital skills; the centres are also used to equip people with online economic opportunity skills e.g. Freelancing, Forex Trading and Data Science. To date, over 100o people have been empowered.

The fish processing plant was constructed in banda in the shores of lake Naivasha. The facility also includes a fish market for those selling fish in an open market. The aim was to increase the production of fish to two to three tonnes per day thereby boosting  the income of the fish stakeholders .The processing unit includes a bulking unit with cold storage facilities for value addition of fish products and to improve on the hygiene in handling fish.

The recreation site was rehabilitated to improve aesthetic value and improve the green space in town. This program was meant to improve and change the face of the Nakuru as we gear for city status and to embrace the attraction site which for years has been neglected. The program has introduced water points, provided adequate street lighting and changed the pebble walk paths. In honour of the late celebrated Nobel laureate and environmentalist, the newly look recreational facility is hosting  a Wangari Maathai Square complete with her five meter bronze statue.

Nakuru City County Governor launched a new oncology unit in Nakuru Level V Hopsital in 2018. The unit is easing the high burden of accessing oncology services to residents of the county and its surrounding counties. To date, many cancer patients who used to travel abroad to seek oncology services are now being trated at the Level V Hopsital. The wait list for patients has reduces, diagnosis and treatment increased, and the cost is more affordable compared to seeking treatment abroad. The unit has attended to approximately 3,500 patients.

The improvement of road has facilitated easier commuting in the area, promoted businesses, and has reduced pollution effects due to reduction of dust. Construction of Non-Motorized Transport facilities has promoted pedestrian safety in the residential area.The drainages have helped in containing storm water. The area where the roads was constructed is a low income area.

The county undertook a 3.7 KM reinforced concrete drainage to avert the damage that was being wrecked on the residents living on the lower side of nakuru town (i.e. Bondeni, Manyani & Kivumbini). Since its completion, no death or destruction of property has been reported from the affected region during the rainy seasons.

The project was initiated to increase water provision and coverage.The project  involved Completion and equipping of Gwashare Borehole including Secured Gwa share borehole and Solarisation of Gwa share borehole done. The project will serve approximately 251 households.

Land ownership remains an emotive topic. The County Government of Nakuru with the support from the Minstry of Lands have facilitated the issuance of over 50,000 title deeds to its residents. This act alone is expected to reduce conflicts, unlock financial access to the owners as well as appreciation of land in the affected regions.

The County Government of Nakuru embarked on an ambitious transformative plan of grading and gravelling roads in all 55 wards dubbed ‘Boresha Barabara’. The programme was initiated in 2018 by his H.E Governor Lee Kinyanjui and its one of its kind since it aims for long term solutions as opposed to short-term renovations,  whereby roads degenerate after three months. The Department of Roads, Transport and Public Works graded and  murramed the Rukuini-Grave yard-Mosque-JEC Church in Subukia Centre which was initially impassable. The upgrade of this road has enhanced accessibibility within the area.

The County Assembly is empowered by the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 to with the authority to legislate, exercise oversight and represent its constituents. The members of the Assembly are charged with the responsibility to maintain close contact with the electorate and consult them regularly on issues under debate on the floor of the House and committees and provide a linkage between the assembly and the electorate on public service delivery. The new Assembly building will facilitate easier access to all County Assembly services, Facilitate seamless broadcasting of Assembly proceedings, and provide a friendly environment to meet with and discuss legislative issues with your Assembly member on matters that affect you directly. The buidling has been named ugatuzi plazato reflect the spirit of devolution.

The youth resource centre was constructed to provide a facility for youth training.Construction is complete and we plan to equip the facility.

Establishment of the Mau Narok Ward Office in Njoro Sub County has improved access of services to the citizenry of the Mau Narok Ward because of the decentralization. Previously, the citizens had to seek the county services at Njoro Sub County Administration offices which is in Njoro Ward approximately 15 km from Mau Narok Ward. The office block has five offices assigned to the following officers in the ward; Ward Administrator Officer, Agricultural Extension Officer, Revenue Officer, Ward Enforcement Commander and a Board room.

Establishment of the Lanet Umoja Ward Office in Bahati Sub County has improved access of services to the citizenry of the Lanet Umoja Ward because of the decentralization of services offered. Previously, the citizens had to seek the county services at Bahati Sub County Administration offices which is in Bahati Ward approximately 12 km from Lanet Umoja Ward. The office block by design has five offices assigned to the following officers in the ward; Ward Administrator Officer, Agricultural Extension Officer, Revenue Officer, Ward Enforcement Commander and a Board room.
